What’s Your Story?

I’d love to hear your “RELOADED” story!  I’d love to help you share that story with the ‘world’! If you haven’t read “What’s RELOADED?”, I would encourage you to check out the page.  It will help you understand more of what I mean when I refer to “your RELOADED story”.   What life event, circumstance or challenge made you feeling empty, hopeless and shipwrecked and what happened on your road to recovery – your healing process? What life lessons have you learned along the way that could help others be encouraged and hold onto hope in the midst of their own challenges and difficulties? How are you or were you “reloaded” with strength, wisdom, purpose, value?

How it works – you can either write your own story and it will be posted on my blog site for others to read, or with some details from you, I can write your story for you.  I can write it in a variety of different formats and again post it for others to read.  I can change names, places, etc. and I always get your approval prior to the final story being posted.  For some examples of the testimonies and stories that people have sent me, see the responses at the bottom of this page.  Also, check out the stories that I’ve written for people by going back to the Home Page and looking in the Blog Topic section – lower left column under “Treasure Chest – what’s your story?”

My email address is brianhetzer@msn.com or you can reply below with questions regarding your own story.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 reads “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.” My hope is that through your stories, we will all gain wisdom, encouragement, strength and hope to live the life that God has created us to live.

1 Corinthians 10:13 also reads “The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.” The Bible clearly says that our trials, tribulations and challenges are not unique to us alone – others have, are and will experience them as well.  Let us be open to let God use our lives to bring hope to others.

I look forward to sharing our stories!

Brian

P.S. – you can find these and other ‘Reloaded’ stories in Blog Topic – Treasure Chest – ‘What’s Your Story’ Archives.

Also for your reading pleasure, I written some fictional short stories as well.  You can check them out in the “Short Stories’ Blog Topic section.

    Brian,
    I wanted to share with you the story of my pregnancy with my twin boys. A few months into my pregnancy we found out I was carrying twins. What a blessing! I was monitored closely. Later in my pregnancy, I was going in weekly for “stress tests” to ensure the safety of the boys. One morning I woke in the early hours with a horrible pain that would not stop. I had a stress test scheduled for that morning, so I mentioned the pain while I was there. The neo-surgeon on call told me that I had pre-eclampsia and that I would need to deliver the twins that day. I was two months away from my due date at this point. They started giving the boys hormones to help develop their lungs while I tried to hang on as long as I could. Things seemed to be stabilizing – The new neo-surgeon on call came in and announced that I did NOT have pre-eclampsia and that I would be going home that afternoon. Within the hour my OB came by, after relaying what the surgeon told me – he instructed me not to move until the doctor that diagnosed my pre-eclampsia came back on call. Within hours my vitals began going downhill. My liver, kidneys, etc. were all beginning to fail and my systems were shutting down. I had an emergency c-section that evening.
    My point is – severe pre-eclampsia can destroy you in no time. I have read stories where women couldn’t even make it to the hospital in time. I firmly believe that God was watching out for us that day – as he always is. If I would have been sent home, as that doctor had ordered, my twins and I would have all perished. Praise God that I had my doctor there who could sense what was going on. The entire pregnancy with the twins, I never once thought once that they would NOT make it. It was by the faith I had, the prayers that everyone around me sent up and the grace of God that these boys survived.
    They were born two months premature. They were so small, but p e r f e c t. They are five years old now and going strong!
    Some people may just pass this off as luck, but I have been through so many situations where I have seen the hand of God – You just have to be aware. God watches over us all and he is always there, especially in the darkest of times.

      Hey Laura – thank you so much for sharing your incredible story! You and your boys are a miracle from God Himself. Reading your story put tears in my eyes. Just yesterday I was reading Isaiah 43 and your story reminded me of what i read:

      1 But now, this is what the LORD says—
      he who created you, O Jacob,
      he who formed you, O Israel:
      “Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
      I have called you by name; you are mine.
      2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;

      and when you pass through the rivers,

      they will not sweep over you.

      When you walk through the fire,

      you will not be burned;

      the flames will not set you ablaze.
      3 For I am the LORD, your God,

      the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;

      4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight,

      and because I love you…

      5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you;

      I will bring your children from the east

      and gather you from the west.

      Laura – God’s blessing on you and your family. I pray that the Lord will use your incredible story to touch many lives! Stay in touch! Please feel free to poke around the blog site, leave comments and feedback and come back often!

      God Bless,
      Brian

    This is an incredible story from Candie, a gal I work with:

    My son was born with spina bifida. I remember when he was first born, I used to think that God was punishing me. It took me some time to realize that God gave me the priviilage and strentgh to raise my son in the Lord and teach him good values so that he could go on to be someone special. He wasn’t punishing me he knew I could be a good mother to my son and love him more than anyone else. I guess the turning point for me was in the hospital about a week after he was born and the hospital wanted to know if I would like to consider giving Brent up for adpotion. At that moment I remember hearing a voice saying “no” I gave him to you. I want you to raise him. I have never looked back after that moment. Brent and I are going through a troubled patch right now, but I know that God will see us through and show me the way. Brent has had a very hard life. He has gone through 13 surgries and so many other issues that come up with this defect. Are there times I think I could have done something to prevent him from having his defect? Of course. Not as much as I used to but I still think about it. There are times I feel very guilty, there are times I am very sad for the things he has missed out on, and there are times I stop and think I wouldn’t change him for anything. He can be such a kind, understanding and compassionite person. I know he will be a great pastor and God put him on this earth to lead his people home to him through my son. And I am so very proud of him.

    Hey Candie – wow! What an incredible story of love, grace and purpose! What an incredible journey for you! Yes, you and only you could be the mom he needed. God is good – all the time! Thank you for sharing your story Candie. I pray others may be blessed and encouraged through it!

    “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.” 2 Corinth. 1:3-4

  4. Brian Hetzer says:

    From Megan –

    In the 18th week of our pregnancy, we went to our appointment to determine the sex of our new baby, Avery. During the ultrasound they discovered a cystic hygroma (which I had never heard of) covering her neck and back. They told me that this could potentially be a big problem. The next day, I had an amnio, and the results came back as Turner’s Syndrome (also never heard of). As the outlook continued to get worse, all I could do at that point was go in every 2 weeks to see if her heart was even still beating. The doctors weren’t giving her much hope of survival – giving her about a 1% chance of making it. However, as tons of people were praying for us, miraculously, the hygroma began to shrink!

    Avery was born via c-section on June 9, 2009, and immediately testing was begun for further defects. As I was recovering (even before I was able to hold her), the doctors told me that she did have the associated TS heart defects, aortic stenosis and coarctation. She had to be transported to the children’s hospital, where she had closed heart surgery at one week old. Other defects began to worsened around 6 months forcing us to go to NYC for open heart surgery. Since then, she has been doing awesome and continues to meet all of her progress milestones! Avery is small and the Turner Syndrome has affected her kidneys as well, but right now, she’s not having too many complications with that. It just makes her progress and caring for her a little more risky and challenging.

    Praise God for His love for us and His continual faithfulness even during difficult times!
