million bucks

I’m sure we’ve all asked ourselves at least once, “What would I do if I was given a million bucks?” Typically, things like buy a home/car, vacation, investments, donate to charity, college, etc., occupy the top spots on our list. Although, each of us may spend our ‘dough’ a bit differently, the bottom line… we’d do something with it. The thought of doing ‘nothing’ with a million dollars just doesn’t seem right.

The same is true about our ‘faith’ and belief in God and His son Jesus Christ.

… “believing” is useless without doing what God wants you to? Faith that does not result in good deeds is not real faith – James 2:20 (LB)

Like being given a million bucks, God wants us to do something with the faith/’belief’ He’s given us. Even more specifically, He wants us to use it as the ‘fire’, the motivation and the direction for what He’s called/created us for individually. Whatever our unique ‘calling’ is –

  1. To get the most out of it, we have to know what it is. Many of us live lives not really knowing what we were created for. We compare ourselves to others, thinking that we want to be like ‘them’, but God created us to be something very different. Imagine if your toaster looked over at your blender and saying, ‘I want to be just like you.’ Be assured that God created you unique in order to make this world/somebody’s world, a better place.
  1. To fulfill all you were meant too in this life, it will take a faith/belief in something bigger than yourself… namely, God, thru a relationship with His son Jesus Christ. After all, God created us… and a builder always knows the purpose behind his design.

By His power we live and move and exist… For we are His children. – Acts 17:28
